Chiloé Health Service advances new hospital projects in Ancud and Quellón

Health officials from the Chiloé Health Service are coordinating the transition and opening of new hospitals in Ancud and Quellón. To prepare for these changes, a delegation led by Director Francisco Camilo Díaz visited the Hospital San José de Melipilla to study its change management and operational processes during its relocation to a new facility.

In Quellón, the new hospital has begun providing open care services, with plans for progressive expansion as technical sectors like critical care, operating rooms, and emergency services are enabled. Meanwhile, the new Ancud Hospital is in the provisional reception stage, focusing on the initial phase of enabling open care areas to facilitate the gradual transfer of equipment and staff from the current facility.
