Chiêm Quốc Thái and ex-wife appeal asset dispute ruling

Both parties in a high-value asset dispute between Chiêm Quốc Thái, Director of Viet My Aesthetic Hospital, and his ex-wife Vũ Thụy Hồng Ngọc, have filed appeals against a first-instance court ruling in Ho Chi Minh City.

Vũ Thụy Hồng Ngọc has appealed the entire verdict, claiming the ruling was not objective or accurate and seriously infringed upon her legal rights and interests. She is seeking a revised judgment that accepts her full claims and rejects the counterclaim filed by Mr. Thái.

Chiêm Quốc Thái has filed a partial appeal, specifically contesting the court's refusal to grant his counterclaim for 8 billion VND in damages. He alleges that Ms. Ngọc's improper request for emergency interim measures regarding property unrelated to her caused him to breach a deposit contract with a third party, resulting in a loss of 8 billion VND. He is requesting the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City to amend the ruling to include this compensation.
