Chima Matthew Amadi calls for end to poverty in Imo
Chima Matthew Amadi, the Action Peoples Party (APP) candidate for the Imo East senatorial district, has called for an end to the cycle of poverty in Imo state. Speaking at the annual August Meeting of the Women’s Wing of the Okpulla Amakaohia Development Union (OADU) in the Ikeduru local government area, Amadi urged women to leverage their numerical strength and grassroots influence to demand accountable representation through voting.
Amadi highlighted several worsening socioeconomic challenges facing the state, including poor healthcare delivery, infrastructural deficits, declining public school standards, inadequate roads, unemployment, and general economic hardship. He attributed these issues to years of poor representation and misplaced priorities, stating that elected officials must become more responsive to the needs of ordinary citizens. He emphasized that the current economic situation disproportionately affects women due to their central roles in families and communities.
