Chimalhuacán and Hidalgo implement new social and resource management programs

In Chimalhuacán, the municipal council has approved the 2026 edition of the “Transformando la Educación” program. The initiative aims to reduce the economic burden on families during the back-to-school season and prevent student dropout rates. The program will provide 700 pesos to 17,570 students for the 2026-2027 school year, specifically targeting 17,400 preschool students and 170 students from Multiple Attention Centers (CAM) using entirely municipal funds.

In the state of Hidalgo, the government has implemented the “Cascos Rosas” initiative to promote gender equality in water management. Led by the State Water and Sewerage Commission (CEAA) under Governor Julio Menchaca Salazar, the program involves 260 women across 48 municipalities. This initiative, supported by the National Association of Water and Sanitation Entities (ANEAS), positions Hidalgo as a national leader in female participation in technical roles within the water sector.
