Mexican municipalities launch sports camp, social aid, and gender‑parity notary reform

In the municipality of Texcoco, the summer sports program 2026 began at the Deportivo Silverio Pérez facility, enrolling more than 350 children and teenagers who will practice football, basketball, boxing, karate, Zumba and other activities over two weeks. The inauguration was led by municipal president Nazario Gutiérrez Martínez and attended by local officials from social development, public safety and civil protection.

Hidalgo Governor Julio Menchaca Salazar visited Huazalingo to deliver social and productive assistance to rural communities. The state provided equipment for poultry, aquaculture and pig‑breeding projects benefiting 470 producers in Huazalingo, Calnali and Atlapexco, with an investment exceeding 3.4 million pesos. Menchaca emphasized that the support is a governmental backing, not a charitable gift.

In Guerrero, deputy Gladys Cortés Genchi presented a legislative initiative to guarantee gender parity in notarial offices. The proposal seeks to amend the state Notary Law to require balanced male‑female representation on the juries that evaluate candidates and to set parity rules for the appointment of new notaries, aiming to reduce the current 80 % male dominance in the profession.
