Chimalhuacán rehabilitation center raid rescues 34 people

Authorities in Chimalhuacán, State of Mexico, rescued 34 individuals from an addiction rehabilitation center known as 'La Tribu de Judá' during a judicial raid. The operation was conducted by the State of Mexico Attorney General's Office (FGJEM) with support from the National Guard and municipal police.

The raid followed investigations into reports of illegal deprivation of liberty. Inside the facility, officials located 30 men and four women who exhibited various injuries and skin infections. Investigations revealed that inmates were subjected to physical abuse, including being forced to stand for entire days, and were fed spoiled food.

Furthermore, authorities are investigating allegations that families were extorted, with some being required to pay 15,000 pesos to secure the release of their relatives. Two men, identified as Ángel Ricardo 'N' and Luis Alberto 'N', who were managing the center at the time of the raid, have been detained.
