Chimbote volleyball and UVM university sports claim regional titles

The Chimbote women's U17 volleyball team has been crowned departmental champions after winning the regional tournament held at the José Carlos Mariátegui sports complex. In a highly anticipated final against their rivals from Nuevo Chimbote, the Chimbote squad secured the title through a series of competitive sets, highlighted by strong offensive play from player Amaranto.

In regional university sports, the Universidad Viña del Mar (UVM) has secured five consecutive regional titles in both women's basketball and taekwondo (both men's and women's categories) within the FENAUDE Costa Zone. The women's basketball team, led by coach Gianluca Pozo, finished ahead of Universidad Andrés Bello and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, qualifying for the 2026 National University Championships.
