Chime Financial lifts 2026 revenue outlook as CFO Matt Newcomb steps down

Chime Financial announced it has raised its 2026 revenue growth outlook to 25‑26%, up from analysts' expectations of about 22.7%. The company reported second‑quarter revenue of $670 million, a 27% year‑over‑year increase, and forecast third‑quarter revenue between $680 million and $690 million. Active members grew 20% to 10.4 million, driven by the premium Chime Prime tier, which boosted average revenue per member to $260.

The fintech also disclosed that longtime chief financial officer Matt Newcomb will leave the company after a decade, with president Mark Troughton named interim CFO. Chime said it will cut about 10% of its workforce as part of cost‑efficiency measures. The results marked the second consecutive quarter of GAAP profitability, with net income of $28 million. Shares fell roughly 6% after the announcement, while analysts raised price targets on the stronger earnings and growth outlook.
