Chimpay launches first fund management firm in Mendoza, Argentina

Chimpay, the financial unit of Grupo Huentala, received a license from the Comisión Nacional de Valores (CNV) to operate as an Agente de Administración de Productos de Inversión Colectiva (AAPIC). This makes it the first fund‑management company authorized in the province of Mendoza and one of only about 40 such entities nationwide.

The new firm will administer mutual funds locally, a market previously concentrated in Buenos Aires, allowing regional savers, small and medium enterprises, and large companies to access sophisticated investment products. Chimpay’s leaders, including CEO Fernando Galante and founder Julio Camsen, said the initiative aims to channel private savings into long‑term regional projects, fostering infrastructure and productive investment. The launch ceremony at the Sheraton Mendoza featured economists and specialists who highlighted the potential of collective investment funds to drive economic development.

Argentina’s capital market moves roughly USD 63 billion annually, and the addition of a local manager is seen as a strategic step toward decentralising financial services and strengthening the province’s economic autonomy.
