China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and Zetrix AI launch AI agent identity service

Zetrix AI Berhad and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) have launched a Know Your Agent (KYA) service to establish trust and accountability for AI agents. Announced at the World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, China, and the ICT Development Forum in Dubai, the service provides a framework for AI agents to possess verifiable digital identities linked to specific businesses or individuals.

The KYA service allows governments and digital service providers to verify an agent's identity, its representative, and its authorized scope of action. This aims to distinguish authorized transactions from rogue activities as AI agents gain more autonomy in executing online services.

In conjunction with this launch, a group of 20 organizations, including Huawei, Alibaba, Tencent, Xiaomi, Baidu, and Ant Group, signed a self-discipline convention drafted by CAICT. This convention outlines commitments regarding trust systems and how AI agents should be built and connected. A pilot program is currently testing interoperability, with Ant Group participating by linking services like Alipay and Sesame Credit to external agents.
