China advances AI agent competition and cybersecurity initiatives
Regional technology and security initiatives are advancing in China, focusing on AI development and cybersecurity talent. In Chengdu, the second 1010 Agent Digital Human Festival and the 2026 Global Agent Competition concluded. The competition, which attracted over 1,000 teams from institutions including Peking University and the University of Macau, focused on practical industrial applications of AI agents. Mingtu Technology also released WorkBrain 6.5, a platform designed to transition from single-agent operations to multi-agent collaborative workflows.
In Guangdong, the 2026 Cybersecurity Awareness Week opened at South China University of Technology. The event introduced support policies for pilot regions focused on the export of computing power and launched an initiative to cultivate practical cybersecurity talent within the Greater Bay Area. The week includes recruitment activities offering over 4,000 positions in fields such as AI and big data, alongside the second “Bay Area Cup” cybersecurity competition, which emphasizes AI-driven security defense and vulnerability mining.
