China and Russia condemn external interference in Eurasia

China and Russia have issued a joint statement condemning what they describe as “destructive external interference” in Eurasia, identifying it as a primary factor undermining regional stability. The announcement followed a visit to Russia by Chinese Premier Li Qiang, who held meetings in Saint Petersburg with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

In the joint statement, China expressed its support for Russia in maintaining its security, stability, national unity, development, prosperity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to supporting one another on issues involving their respective core interests and major concerns.

Separately, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov noted that preparations are underway for a potential meeting between the leaders of China, Russia, and the United States. This meeting is being considered for inclusion in the program of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Shenzhen, China, scheduled for next month.
