China announces 2027 civil service and postgraduate exam schedules

China has released key dates and procedures for the 2027 national civil service examination and the 2027 postgraduate entrance examinations.

For the 2027 civil service exam, registration and authentication must be completed by October 23 at 18:00, with the final application submission deadline set for October 24 at 18:00. To prevent fraudulent activity, a new real-name authentication process using electronic social security cards via platforms like Alipay has been implemented. The exam aims to recruit approximately 357,000 people, with the written test scheduled for November 29.

Regarding postgraduate admissions, the Ministry of Education announced that the preliminary examinations will take place from December 19 to 20, 2026. The registration period is scheduled from October 15 to October 24, 2026. The registration system is being upgraded to allow candidates to upload photos directly via the Xuexin App and to streamline the verification process into a single-step online procedure.
