China-ASEAN Expo emphasizes practical AI and robotics applications

The 23rd China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning has seen a significant shift in its artificial intelligence sector, moving from mere demonstrations to practical commercial applications. The AI exhibition area now functions as a marketplace where attendees can utilize AI glasses for real-time translation, test security vulnerabilities with AI invisibility cloaks, and purchase rehabilitation robots.

Major Chinese technology firms including Huawei, iFLYTEK, and Unitree are showcasing solutions tailored to the specific needs of ASEAN nations. A new “open recruitment” model has been introduced to match ASEAN requirements in logistics, transportation, and urban governance directly with Chinese technical solutions. To support long-term cooperation, a dedicated AI consumer product section will remain open year-round.

Among the featured technologies, Shenzhen-based Xuanji Dynamics debuted its Hypertron-SW01, a medium-sized quadruped robot designed for rapid deployment. The robot features self-developed AI software for 3D environmental perception and intelligent inspection management. The company aims to use the expo to expand its footprint in the ASEAN market, offering automated inspection and fire safety solutions for industries such as power, energy, and petrochemicals.
