Taiwan's left‑handed player Lin Junyi rebounded from a recent dip in form by defeating world No. 5 France's Christo Popov 21‑18, 21‑13, advancing to the men’s singles quarter‑finals. Earlier he had dispatched local contender Lu Guangzu.
