China bans exports to 10 US firms and bars US defense products from government purchase

China’s Ministry of Commerce placed ten American companies active in the defence and rare‑earth sectors on an export‑control list, prohibiting the sale of dual‑use items to them. In a related move, Chinese public‑sector buyers are barred from purchasing products from 46 U.S. firms, including defence divisions of Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and Boeing. The measures were announced as retaliation after the United States added numerous Chinese firms to its own blacklist, and Beijing warned of further counter‑measures if Washington’s policies continue.

The restrictions also extend to any third‑party entities that might re‑export Chinese dual‑use goods to the listed U.S. companies, underscoring the widening scope of the trade dispute between the two powers.
