China calls for global cooperation to address refugee crisis

During a United Nations Security Council meeting regarding the refugee crisis, China's permanent deputy representative, Sun Lei, called for increased international solidarity and cooperation to address ongoing humanitarian crises caused by prolonged regional conflicts.

China emphasized that the Security Council must fulfill its primary responsibility to maintain international peace and security by adhering to the principle of peaceful dispute resolution. The representative urged conflicting parties to renounce violence and advocated for the promotion of rapid, permanent ceasefires.

Furthermore, China identified development as the fundamental solution to the refugee problem. The nation called upon the international community, particularly developed countries, to increase development assistance to help affected nations restore economies, improve employment, education, and infrastructure, and build resilience against future risks.
