China celebrates Double Ninth Festival with elderly care activities

Various organizations in China held events to celebrate the Double Ninth Festival, focusing on honoring and caring for the elderly.

In Yantai High-tech Zone, the Social Affairs Bureau and Yuhuan Garden Elderly Apartment hosted a cultural gala. The event featured performances entirely self-produced and performed by the residents, including dance, choral singing, Peking Opera, and Tai Chi. The initiative is part of a broader effort to improve elderly spiritual life and strengthen the local elderly care service system.

At Harbin Institute of Technology, the College of Chemical Engineering and Technology organized an online health lecture for retired faculty members. Led by a physician from the university hospital, the session focused on cardiovascular protection and winter wellness, providing practical medical advice on managing blood pressure and recognizing emergency warning signs.
