China celebrates 77th National Day with diplomatic receptions across Africa

Chinese embassies across several African nations held receptions to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and to mark significant milestones in bilateral diplomatic relations.

In Burundi, Ambassador Zhu Kewei highlighted China's role as a global economic driver, noting its contribution of approximately 30% to global growth and its policy of zero-percent tariffs for 53 African countries. In Togo, Ambassador Wang Min celebrated the 54th anniversary of China-Togo diplomatic ties. In Rwanda, Ambassador Gao Wenqi marked the 55th anniversary of relations between China and Rwanda, emphasizing the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan and the pursuit of modernization.

In Uganda, Speaker of Parliament Jacob Marksons Oboth commended decades of cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, and healthcare. He specifically cited projects such as the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway and the Karuma hydropower dam, while welcoming the incoming 26th Chinese Medical Team. Ambassador Wu Guangrong described the relationship as a fast-expanding comprehensive strategic partnership focusing on hydropower, oil, and trade.
