China certifies Type 075 amphibious assault ship Hubei for active service

The People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) has officially certified the Hubei, a Type 075-class amphibious assault ship, for active operational service. This milestone follows an extensive combat readiness evaluation conducted in the South China Sea.

The certification process involved multi-day exercises focused on integrating personnel and equipment. The crew performed various maneuvers, including underwater defensive operations and the successful destruction of a target drone using anti-aircraft weaponry.

To test command and control capabilities, the evaluation team utilized the ship's internal communication systems to simulate approximately 100 different combat scenarios, including both planned and unexpected situations. The Hubei is the fourth vessel of the Type 075 class, designed to allow for the simultaneous deployment of troops via both air and sea.
