China dominates early ISSF World Shooting Championships

China and South Korea are leading the medal standings at the ISSF World Shooting Championships following the initial finals. China has secured half of the twelve available medals in Olympic disciplines, including victories in the men’s 10m air rifle with Sheng Lihao and the mixed team event.

In the women’s 10m air pistol, China achieved a double podium finish. Jiang Ranxin took gold, narrowly defeating teammate Yao Qianxun, while Veronika Major of Hungary secured the bronze. These results also secured Olympic qualification spots for China, Hungary, and Iran.

Other notable results include Ban Hyojin of South Korea winning the women’s 10m air rifle and Florian Peter of Germany winning the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol. The Italian team has yet to secure a medal, with the women’s air pistol squad finishing 15th in the team rankings.
