China energy sector sees capacity growth and infrastructure expansion

China's energy sector is seeing significant growth in infrastructure and capacity. According to the National Energy Administration, total installed power capacity reached 4.08 billion kilowatts by the end of July, representing an 11% year-on-year increase. This growth is driven largely by renewable energy, with solar power capacity rising 16.1% to 1.29 billion kilowatts and wind power capacity increasing 19.5% to 690 million kilowatts.

In the natural gas sector, domestic gas storage capacity is projected to grow from 23.4 billion cubic meters in 2020 to 54 billion cubic meters during the ‘14th Five-Year Plan’ period. This expansion is driving demand for specialized equipment, such as natural gas compressor units used in collection, storage, and LNG production. Companies like Jereh Group are providing integrated solutions for these complex industrial requirements.

Electricity consumption data shows a 1.7% increase in total social electricity use for July. While industrial electricity use grew by 3%, high-tech and equipment manufacturing saw a notable 8.9% increase. Conversely, electricity consumption for rural and urban residents decreased by 5.1%.
