China expands vocational education cooperation with Bangladesh and Tanzania

China has entered into new agreements with Bangladesh and Tanzania to expand cooperation in technical and vocational education and training (TVET).

In Bangladesh, the two nations agreed to jointly establish a technical and vocational university. The initiative includes upgrading eight existing vocational institutions by introducing Chinese curricula, teaching methods, and practical training models. The agreement also features joint academic programmes, the establishment of smart classrooms, and expanded scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students.

In Tanzania, officials agreed to strengthen strategic cooperation to equip youth with industrial skills. Tanzania plans to establish four vocational training colleges to meet the demands of modern industry and technology, aligning with its Development Vision 2050. China committed to continuing scholarship programmes and facilitating the exchange of experts and students to enhance Tanzania’s human resource capacity.
