China express delivery companies implement price hikes
Several express delivery companies in China have implemented price increases to combat “involutionary” competition and rising operational costs. Starting September 20, 2026, companies in the Anhui region have raised minimum rates by at least 0.15 yuan per parcel, primarily targeting the ToB (business-to-business) sector. Similarly, companies operating in Jiangsu have introduced peak-season adjustments with increases of no less than 0.1 yuan per parcel.
This shift follows ongoing efforts by the State Post Bureau to regulate excessive price wars and promote high-quality development within the industry. Regulatory discussions have emphasized the need to move away from “volume-for-price” strategies, which often place undue financial pressure on end-point service networks and couriers. The goal of these adjustments is to stabilize the industry, ensure reasonable compensation for delivery personnel, and improve overall service quality by addressing the unsustainable low-price competition that has characterized the sector.
