Gold investment trends show resilience in China and new accessibility in the UAE

In the United Arab Emirates, the Ain Gold Wallet digital platform has launched to make precious metal ownership more accessible. The app allows users to purchase real gold and silver starting from as little as Dh1.00, providing a way for individuals with various budgets to build holdings through a user-friendly mobile interface.

Meanwhile, in China, physical gold investment demand showed resilience during the second quarter despite sideways market prices. While retail gold investment fell to 107 tonnes in Q2—a decrease from the 207 tonnes recorded in Q1—the volume remains historically strong, ranking as the third-highest second quarter since 2010. Through the first half of the year, retail gold investment demand increased by 31 percent. Additionally, Chinese ETFs added 29 tonnes of metal in the first half of the year, marking the second-strongest start to a year on record.
