China grape export market faces price pressure from rising supply
China's grape export market is facing significant price pressures due to expanding cultivation areas. The market is currently seeing high activity across major varieties, including Shine Muscat, Crimson, and red grapes.
Shine Muscat currently holds the largest market share but is facing downward price pressure as production increases across multiple regions. Conversely, red grapes initially maintained high prices due to reduced planting areas and lower yields, though prices have begun to cool as peak harvest arrives.
Weather conditions have also impacted the market. In Yunnan, rainy seasons have affected grape quality and slowed order volumes. To mitigate these environmental risks, new Shine Muscat supplies from greenhouse cultivation in Xichang, Sichuan, are expected to enter the market, potentially providing a boost to quality and supply stability.
