China holds press conferences on '15th Five-Year Plan' development

Chinese authorities are holding a series of press conferences under the theme 'Starting the 15th Five-Year Plan' to discuss high-quality development strategies.

In Beijing, the State Council Information Office will host a session featuring Vice Minister of Commerce Jiang Chenghua to outline plans for advancing high-quality commerce during the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan period.

In Tianjin, the Municipal Development and Reform Commission detailed regional strategies to strengthen the marine economy. Key initiatives include implementing the maritime power strategy, fostering coordination between central and local governments—specifically with China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC)—and extending industrial chains in sectors such as marine engineering equipment, advanced chemical materials, and seawater desalination. The city also aims to enhance the Tianjin International Shipping Center and promote the integration of port, industry, and urban development.
