China hosts 2026 Global Ecological Civilization Forum in Yunnan

The main conference of the 2026 Global Ecological Civilization Construction Forum was held on 30 May in Dali, Yunnan province, southwest China. The event, themed “Advancing Innovation for a Beautiful China,” brought together more than 200 delegates from 16 nations, including China, Germany, Canada and Thailand.

Participants highlighted the importance of technological innovation and international cooperation for building an ecological civilization, accelerating low‑carbon transitions and fostering high‑quality global development. A Thai delegate praised China’s experience in ecological protection, poverty alleviation, rural revitalisation and new energy, while a Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment official outlined plans to deepen pollution control, ecosystem adaptation and green, low‑carbon transformation, and to engage actively in global environmental and climate governance.
