China hosts professional and academic exchange programs

Various professional and academic groups are conducting international exchange programs in China to study technological innovation and strategic development.

In September 2026, the Universidad Estatal de Milagro (UNEMI) is facilitating an international faculty mobility program for 80 professors. The initiative involves academic exchange and training in Shanghai and Hangzhou, focusing on e-commerce, digital marketing, and emerging technological trends. The program includes institutional visits and academic sessions at the Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics.

Separately, a group of nearly 80 leaders participated in a Vistage program in April 2026, visiting Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. The focus of this trip was to understand the underlying logic of the Chinese market and its scale, rather than simply attempting to replicate its technology. Participants noted the importance of China's shift from a manufacturing hub to a center for research and development, emphasizing the need for strategic positioning within the global value chain.
