China industry summits focus on AI integration and digital transformation

Recent industry summits in China have highlighted the critical role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital transformation in driving the next phase of growth for both small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and state-owned enterprises (SOEs).

At the 7th BoShang Private Enterprise Ceremony in Shenzhen, experts discussed how traditional business models are becoming obsolete. Discussions focused on the need for companies to transition from scale-driven to capability-driven models, emphasizing AI integration, global expansion, and refined supply chain management to meet evolving consumer demands.

Simultaneously, the 19th Autumn CIO and Digital Technology Executive Summit in Beijing addressed the practical implementation of AI within large-scale state-owned enterprises. Key themes included the shift from model-centric to data-centric approaches and the emergence of AI agents capable of executing autonomous tasks.

Industry leaders raised concerns regarding security risks, such as data leakage through large language models, and the challenges of achieving measurable return on investment (ROI). Solutions discussed included building organizational-level AI that integrates internal knowledge bases with secure, controlled execution to move beyond simple chatbots toward true business process automation.
