China invites U.S. companies to expand under new Five-Year Plan

China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has invited foreign companies, specifically those from the United States, to expand their presence in the country. This invitation is tied to the upcoming implementation of the XV Five-Year Plan (2026-2030).

During a roundtable discussion involving approximately 100 representatives from AmCham China, the US-China Business Council, and over 60 American companies, NDRC officials outlined the framework of the new five-year plan. The plan emphasizes high-standard market opening and policies designed to attract and utilize foreign investment by improving the business environment and strengthening related services and guarantees.

Discussions included representatives from various sectors, such as advanced technology, biomedicine, modern agriculture, consumer electronics, industrial manufacturing, and electric power. The NDRC expressed hope that American enterprises will serve as a link between the two nations to facilitate bilateral cooperation and collaborative projects.
