China leads Asian Games success in diving and athletics

Chinese athletes achieved significant success at the Asian Games, highlighted by dominant performances in diving and track and field. Olympic champion Chen Yuxi secured gold in the women’s 10m platform with 432.65 points, while teammate Wang Zongyuan completed a three-gold sweep.

In athletics, 18-year-old Yan Ziyi won the women’s javelin gold with a single throw of 70.46 meters, setting a new Games record and defeating Olympic champion Haruka Kitaguchi.

In sprinting, Thailand’s Puripol Boonson secured a double victory, winning both the 100m and 200m titles, with his 200m performance clocking an Asian record of 19.88 seconds. Singapore’s Shanti Pereira successfully defended her women’s 200m title, finishing with a time of 22.78 seconds.
