China leads humanoid robot production through rapid scaling and government policy

China is rapidly advancing in the humanoid robot market, driven by a strategy to produce units “fast, cheap, and in large quantities.” According to an analysis by SUGENA, Chinese humanoid shipments in the first half of 2026 reached 18,500 units, surpassing the total global annual shipments of 2025.

Key drivers for China's dominance include government policy—positioning physical AI as a future industry in the 15th Five-Year Plan—concentrated funding, an established electric vehicle (EV) supply chain, and a market approach that prioritizes rapid deployment and field-based quality improvement. While China leads in manufacturing scale and domestic production of components like sensors and nervous systems, high-end AI computing boards, such as those from NVIDIA, remain a global standard.

To address the practical implementation of these technologies, Chinoh. Ai and Jangshin (Takushin) are hosting a webinar focused on the Return on Investment (ROI) of humanoid robots. The session will examine real-world use cases in Chinese logistics and manufacturing, exploring how these robots can be integrated with existing automated systems to achieve labor savings and operational efficiency.
