China PC market shifts toward commercial demand in 2026
The PC market in mainland China is experiencing a structural shift toward commercial and enterprise products, even as overall consumer demand faces challenges. In the second quarter of 2026, mainland China’s PC shipments grew 11% year-over-year to 11.4 million units, driven largely by a 42% surge in desktop shipments. This growth was primarily supported by a 29% rise in the commercial segment, fueled by large enterprise and government procurement linked to the XinChuang initiative, which promotes domestic IT technology adoption.
In contrast, the consumer segment saw a decline. IDC reports indicate that China’s total PC consumer market fell 2.2% year-on-year in the first half of 2026. While tablet shipments also declined, companies like Huawei, Lenovo, and AOC have managed to grow their market shares by focusing on these enterprise and high-performance sectors. Huawei achieved a 7.5% market share in the monitor segment, a 3.2% increase from the previous year, benefiting from government and large enterprise desktop procurement.
Looking ahead, Omdia projects that mainland China’s total PC shipments will decline by 6% in 2026, reaching an estimated 39.7 million units. Tablet shipments are also expected to fall by 10% for the full year.
