China power grids undergo autumn maintenance in Zhejiang and Tianjin

Power grid authorities in China have launched autumn maintenance operations in Zhejiang and Tianjin to ensure stability ahead of the winter season.

In Zhoushan, Zhejiang, State Grid Zhoushan Power Supply Company is conducting comprehensive inspections of the 110 kV Zhongzhu Substation and related lines. This maintenance is critical for island power reliability, as equipment in the Daishan and Dongji areas is frequently exposed to salt spray, high humidity, and strong winds. The work aims to bolster the grid's ability to handle extreme weather such as cold waves and heavy winds.

In Tianjin, State Grid Tianjin High Voltage Company has completed its first major inspection of the 1000 kV Haihe Ultra-High Voltage Substation following the summer peak load period. The Haihe station serves as a vital junction for the ‘West-to-East Power Transmission’ project, facilitating the transfer of approximately 20 billion kWh of electricity annually from energy bases like Inner Mongolia to Tianjin. The 16-day inspection involved testing main transformers and automation devices to prepare the system for winter demand.
