The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China has provided SBD$150,000 to the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) to fund the Chinese Ambassador’s Scholarship for the second semester of 2026. The scholarship will support 37 selected students.
The handover ceremony included Acting Prime Minister Francis Sade and China’s Chargé d’Affaires Yang Jie. This marks the fourth consecutive year the embassy has provided these awards to outstanding SINU students.
According to SINU, the program aims to promote international cooperation and educational exchange. Over the last seven years, nearly 300 Solomon Islands students have received full scholarships to study in China, reflecting ongoing cooperation in human resource development between the two nations.
