China highlights Belt and Road at Davos and meets Austrian foreign minister

The 17th Summer Davos Forum was held in Tianjin, China, from June 23‑25, bringing together more than 1,700 guests from over 90 countries. An accompanying sub‑forum focused on high‑quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative, with participants noting tangible results after a decade of effort. Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov said the initiative has turned his country into a key transit hub, while Guinea’s Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah highlighted significant infrastructure projects and improvements to living standards.

In Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Mink Raisinger. Both officials marked the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties, emphasizing a “healthy and stable” relationship based on mutual respect, the one‑China policy, and a friendly strategic partnership. They pledged to deepen cooperation in trade, investment and green development.
