China raises gasoline prices as Japan records nationwide fuel price hikes

On July 31, 2026, China will implement its 15th annual refined‑oil price adjustment. In Japan, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry reported that as of July 29, 2026 the average regular‑gasoline price rose to 170.10 yen per litre, an increase of 0.10 yen from the previous week. All 27 prefectures saw price changes, with Nagasaki posting the highest price at 178.80 yen per litre and Miyagi the lowest at 163.90 yen. High‑octane gasoline averaged 180.90 yen per litre, while diesel remained unchanged at 159.40 yen per litre. The data show a nationwide upward trend in fuel costs for Japanese consumers.
