China recognizes 12 new technological professions

China has officially recognized 12 new professions to align its workforce with the rapid evolution of its economy. This initiative aims to allow educational institutions to prepare necessary labor, provide companies with clear recruitment criteria, and offer professionals defined paths for qualification and growth.

The new roles are primarily technological, including Digital Twin Engineering Technicians, Embodied-AI Robot Application Technicians, and Industrial Product Digital Modelers. Other specialized positions include Sports Data Analysts, Corporate Sustainability Planners, Microgrid Operators, and technicians focused on hydrogen production, such as Hydrogen Fuel Cell Manufacturing Technicians and Water Electrolysis Hydrogen Production Operators. Additionally, the list includes Laboratory Animal Engineering Technicians and roles related to naval management engineering.
