China robot training program sees first graduates enter workforce
A specialized robot training program in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, has seen its first cohort of robots complete their training. The program involves placing humanoid and AI-integrated robots in simulated real-world environments, such as homes, shops, and warehouses, to teach them object recognition, movement, and specific task completion through repetitive data collection.
Following a two-month training period, four robots have successfully transitioned to real-world roles. One robot is serving as a museum guide in Hangzhou, while another provides tours at the robot training facility itself. A third robot has been deployed to a Nestlé manufacturing plant in Tianjin to perform inspection tasks. The fourth robot has traveled to South Korea to perform piano recitals.
