China Secures Boeing Purchase Deal to Extend US Trade Truce

China's Ministry of Commerce confirmed an agreement with the United States for the purchase of at least 200 Boeing commercial aircraft, with the possibility of buying up to 750 if certain conditions are met. The deal is intended to extend the current tariff truce between the two nations, which is set to expire in November. It represents the first sizeable acquisition of U.S.-made jets by China in years and follows recent high‑level talks, including a visit by U.S. President Donald Trump to Beijing.

The agreement also includes provisions to restore guarantees for the supply of engines and other aircraft components to the Chinese market, signalling a broader effort to stabilize economic ties amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
