China unveils 15th five‑year plan for postal sector

China's State Post Administration and other government agencies have released the 15th five‑year plan for the postal sector, outlining ten primary goals that include service improvements and the expansion of a modern logistics network.

The plan sets quantitative targets for 2030: total postal revenue of 2.4 trillion yuan (about $353.5 billion), total delivery volume of 290 billion items, express‑delivery revenue of 2 trillion yuan and 270 billion parcels. It aims for postal services to reach 90 % of administrative villages at least five times per week, a 72‑hour on‑time delivery rate of 88 % in key regions, and for 80 % of express‑delivery packaging to meet green standards.
