China to host 15th annual Intellectual Property Conference in Beijing

The 15th annual China Intellectual Property Conference (CIPAC) is scheduled to take place in Beijing on September 8 and 9. Organized by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), the event aims to focus on high-quality development within the sector, aligning with the objectives of China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030).

The conference will bring together government officials, industry leaders, academics, and researchers from both China and abroad. The program includes a main forum, 13 parallel sessions, and more than 20 specialized events covering topics such as patents, trademarks, and geographical indications.

According to CNIPA data, high-value invention patents in mainland China reached 2.29 million by the end of last year. Additionally, the number of valid invention patents in mainland China reached 5.32 million by the end of 2025. To support innovators, 135 intellectual property service providers will be present at the conference.
