China's AI exports surge as big‑data expo showcases advanced computing
China's AI‑related exports rose sharply in the first half of 2026, with the Ministry of Commerce official He Shaojun reporting an 18.6% year‑on‑year increase in industrial robot shipments and a 109.3% rise in 3D‑printer exports from January to June. He attributed the growth to the country's strong industrial capacity, ongoing innovation, a large domestic market and open international cooperation, and said the ministry will keep promoting high‑quality foreign trade.
At the International Big Data Expo 2026, vice‑director of the National Data Administration Yu Ying announced that more than 40 new achievements in computing power, electricity, data circulation and generative AI will be presented. The expo opens on 28 August in Guiyang, Guizhou, and will host over 300 exhibitors, more than 20 sector forums and seven innovation contests. The NDA will also publish sector standards and best‑practice collections. China’s intelligent computing capacity has reached 2.4 million PFlops, with eight national hubs accounting for over 80% of the total, and in June the country produced more than 120 000 high‑quality data sets totaling over 1 565 petabytes.
