China to implement stricter visa and entry rules for Filipinos
The Philippine Embassy in Beijing has issued an advisory to Filipino citizens regarding stricter Chinese exit and entry regulations, following the implementation of State Council Decree No. 841. The new rules, set to take effect on September 15, emphasize the authenticity of travel documents and the lawful purpose of a foreign national’s stay.
Travelers are warned that their visa category must strictly match their intended activities in China. Authorities may request supporting materials, including electronic records, to verify that declared purposes are genuine. The embassy cautioned that submitting counterfeit documents or making false representations could lead to visa rejection and entry bans.
Additionally, individuals providing invitation letters for visa applications are legally responsible for the accuracy of the information provided and may face penalties or fines for inaccuracies. The embassy also advised travelers to ensure that any visa or immigration agencies they use are officially registered with local Chinese immigration authorities.
