China unveils five‑year plan to cut industrial emissions by 2030

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released a five‑year plan covering 2026‑2030 that targets a peak in industrial carbon‑dioxide emissions by 2030. The strategy calls for a more than 10 % reduction in energy consumption per unit of added value for major industrial firms and aims to boost the share of green energy in manufacturing.

Key measures include building 500 zero‑emission factories, expanding clean‑hydrogen use, developing eco‑computing hubs in renewable‑rich regions, and strengthening recycling systems for industrial resources and spent batteries.
