China, US, and Australia lead global arable land rankings

In observance of World Agriculture Day, data from the FAO and the World Bank highlights the global distribution of arable land. China leads the world with 520 million hectares of agricultural surface, followed by the United States with 421 million hectares and Australia with 363 million hectares.

Other significant agricultural nations include Brazil, with 236 million hectares, and Russia, with 215 million hectares. While land area varies, production specialties differ by region: the United States is a top producer of corn, Brazil excels in soy and sugarcane, and Australia is a major producer of wheat and cereals.

Colombia ranks 27th globally with over 40.8 million hectares of cultivable land, with its primary crops being coffee, rice, and oil palm.
