China woman aged 60 gives birth to daughter

A 60-year-old woman in Henan Province, China, has given birth to a baby girl via cesarean section at Zhumadian Central Hospital. This follows the birth of her son two years earlier when she was 58.

The mother, identified by the surname Zhang, expressed happiness regarding the new addition, stating that having both a son and a daughter brings fulfillment and companionship for the children. She noted that her decision to have children later in life was influenced by the loss of her only child in 2022.

Obstetrician Zhang Hualian remarked that such pregnancies are rare in China at this age. Zhang attributed her health and vitality to her family's longevity, noting her father lived to 100 and her mother is currently 94.
