ChinaJoy 2026 Gaming Expo Draws 438,900 Attendees, Showcases 300 Steam Games
The ChinaJoy 2026 expo in Shanghai attracted 438,900 visitors and more than 900 companies from 35 countries, with overseas firms accounting for 44% of the B2B area. The event featured side programs such as the Pocket Gamer Connects Summit Shanghai, which hosted 770 delegates from over 400 companies, as well as a Supper Club with Epic Games and other industry mixers.
A parallel online festival on Steam ran until August 6, offering roughly 300 games across genres, limited‑time discounts and curated showcases. The Steam showcase highlighted titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and The Scroll of Tairu, and provided a “Hit Games” tab for featured releases.
Key industry players emphasized China’s global ambitions. Tencent, Century Games, Microfun and FirstFun discussed overseas expansion, while companies such as Discord, Xsolla, Stripe and Adjust were present in the exhibition hall. AI and the role of advertising and payment platforms were identified as major discussion topics, underscoring the sector’s rapid growth and international integration.
