China's AI Computing Capacity Expands with Hebei Supercenter and National 2.8‑fold Growth

The Hebei Artificial Intelligence Computing Center in Langfang Development Zone has become the province’s first fully domestic AI compute facility. Since its launch, the centre has maintained a monthly utilization rate above 95%, connected with 1,186 prospective enterprise partners and 210 university or research teams, and has incubated roughly 176 AI solutions. Twelve AI companies have established operations in Langfang, creating a complete AI industry chain that now accounts for 38.2% of the province’s total compute capacity (12.88 万 P). The centre is part of a broader “2 + 2 + X” industrial system that includes electronics, logistics, advanced equipment, health, and emerging sectors.

At the national level, the National Development and Reform Commission reported that by the end of June the country’s smart‑compute capacity was 2.8 times that of the same period last year, driven by the deployment of the first fully domestic 100,000‑GPU AI supercluster. AI‑related industries posted growth rates above 30%, while domestic large‑model downloads surpassed 100 billion. Data‑set creation exceeded 120,000 high‑quality sets, and the integrated‑circuit sector saw output rise 23.1% year‑on‑year with exports up 88.7%, underscoring AI’s role as a key engine of China’s economic expansion.
